Fortune Favors the Bold! I bring great big balls of glory! The Captain's Log
One of the hardest things is saying goodbye........

I've seen people come and go out of my life so many times but saying goodbye doesn't get any easier. The hardest was receiving that kiss in front of Subway once the woman I gave my virginity to was destined to leave into that thick fog. Thanks to her need for a Phd. in political science, I was left alone wondering why time traveled faster than usual.

The most recent had to be leaving Canada after visiting my PenDragon for an amazing week. I had the hardest time sitting there waiting for my plane to get in all while she and I sat there in Dorval Airport. Hedgehoggys don't cry but I swear that my eyes were very much welling up. Lucky for me, I was escorted out before everything erupted after that long hug. Gawd, I still remember seeing her wave as I walked that long line to customs (very scary people).

So, last night was another goodbye of sorts. A great guy I worked with named Pete found his destiny in Chicago, namely a job. To see him off, we all gathered in a nice little sports bar to karaoke the night away and to see each other without the worries of work and getting so little sleep.

No karaoke due to a local college game. Our nervousness of what songs to sing in the hopes that someone would flash us were gone down the drain. Gawd, I walked in there wondering what kind of dance moves I was going to do to "Like A Virgin" but at least I was relaxed.

Gawd, about 25 people from work came to see Pete off! Some I even forgot about due to not working closely with were so happy to see little ol' me. Nobody had an ego but just laughs all around.

Unfortunately, the tables were divided due to the bar being quite filled with people wanting to watch the local college play. So, Amanda beckened me to sit with the "kiddie table" due to them being underage. Pete and the others were sitting at a table in the bar drinking and toasting. Soon, I found myself at both tables.

A good portion of my time was spent talking to Steph's friend from North Carolina. She's studying accounting and I've been there to which I got bored and disgusted with that major. Yeah, I'm sure people would find it really weird to hear the two of us talking "accounts payable" and "accumulated depreciation" but that's us! She could understand my jokes and I got hers.

Stephanie, one of the most beautiful girls I've ever worked with, was forced to sit on my chair. Now, I'm not attracted to her, mostly because I'm more into brunettes and redheads so I was completely at ease. No, I didn't even notice the cute little tight tiny baby doll "t" she wore. Okay, maybe a few glances!

Now, this was weird but the girls there (mostly girls than boys with us) liked to play with their boobs. Stephanie took pictures of Chelsea's at the table with her camera phone. Weird? Nah, just being goofy while eating Oreos that Pete brought for some reason. I added my massive "man boobs" for show due to my bench pressing.

The people I work with are mostly into punk and sorts so that's one of the coolest things in there not being any egos. Everyone just wanted to enjoy each other's company without Crotch Rot (many conversations about her ended up in laughter). Not surprisingly, my Dropkick Murphys t-shirt was a hit with them. It was once a gift to another but is now mine. Love it!

Mark and Kim are definite skater/punk people that loved singing along to whatever the hell the jukebox was playing. I wasn't paying much attention to them at times due to ESPN playing Top 10 Moments of the day. Wow! Our college team made one of them.

The night ended at 2:05am to which I drove home. Don't worry for I wasn't drunk after 4.5 beers. Amanda's cheesesticks and tiny corndog sopped up those Coronas (with a lime, of course!). What's funny to me is that I only spent $3 the whole night! Bonus! Usually, when I'm drunk, I end up spending way too much thanks to a loss of sanity and laughing. I get waaaaaaaaay too goofy.

The ending was hard and ended the way work for me started, the same 3 people I first met. It was Mark, Kim, Pete, and I that stayed til closing smoking cigars. Hey, everyone needs a vice and I like to end it this way. Unfortunately, I can still taste those things.

So, is this the complete end? No, Amanda and Stephanie will still be in town attending college nearby. The fact that I will be in school for a class this semester to work on my foreign language skills may find me running into them. That and they do work nearby so........

However, Pete's gone but may visit on occasion. Mark will be....uh...Mark so when we were once not as talkative to each other, we are now. I don't think he's ever heard anyone sing Skid Row's "18 & Life" quite like me.

However, last night in the gym E laughed at how nervous I was about the possibility of karaokeing. Hell, I wouldn't tell Jeff or Chris which bar due to them showing up to mock me. Boys do that. No karaoke but a great time.

So, I hope you all enjoyed reading this entry just like everyone at the bar liked hearing how the stripper sat on my face. Saying goodbye is so fucking hard to do no matter how many times it comes up in life. Boys don't cry, right? 0 Got Balls?
