Maybe there's a generational difference here? People my age grew up in such a more sexualized culture that there's really no mystery surrounding it for a lot of us. That's how I feel, anyway. I've never had any desire to know what others do behind closed doors - so long as it involves consenting adults, do whatever the fuck you want, I couldn't care less. I'm not here to judge what people do or don't do, if it makes them happy and comfortable, then it doesn't matter what others think. As for the sex blogs, they couldn't be more unrealistic if they tried. They may write about other things besides sex, but the sexual content is usually so grossly overrepresented, as though they want you to think they put more thought/action into it than they do for their jobs/kids/etc. Like I said, I don't like to be judgemental about others' sex lives, but our culture has unfortunately made it into this popularity contest, where some people are led to believe they will be more accepted if they put more of themselves out there. If you like missionary and do it once a month, you're boring. But if you like doggy style and need it five times a day and enjoy filming it to show to people who otherwise have no part in your sex life, you're all of a sudden interesting and worthy of reading. Why should your level of alienation/acceptance be determined by what you do in your private life? I get that throwing in sex buzz words probably gets you more hits through Google searches...but it seems to me that people focus so much on wanting to be known, without thinking about what they want to be known *for*. I don't think I'd mind being a more known personality in the blog world, but if that means being known as a sex blogger, I'll pass.
